Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of the tutoring services provided by Academex & Co. ("Academex", "we", "us"), operated by Jyoti Malik. By enrolling or using our services, you agree to these terms.

1. Services

Academex provides 1-on-1 online tutoring for students in Classes 8–12 across subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics, for exams including JEE, NEET, CBSE Boards, and AS/A-Levels. Sessions are conducted online via MS Teams.

2. Free trial session

New students are entitled to one free 60-minute trial session. The trial is non-transferable and available once per student. No payment is required before or during the trial session. Continuing beyond the trial constitutes acceptance of our pricing and payment terms.

3. Pricing and payment

• Sessions are priced at ₹1,000 per hour for the flexible monthly plan.
• A 3-month advance plan is available at ₹950/hr (5% discount).
• A 6-month advance plan is available at ₹920/hr (8% discount).
• Payment is due in advance at the start of each monthly cycle or plan period.
• Prices are subject to change with 30 days' notice.

4. Rescheduling and cancellations

• Up to 25% of sessions in any month may be rescheduled with a minimum of 4 hours' notice.
• Sessions cancelled with less than 4 hours' notice may be counted as conducted.
• Academex reserves the right to reschedule sessions in exceptional circumstances, with as much notice as possible.

5. Refunds

If you are unsatisfied after your first paid session, please contact us within 48 hours. Refund requests are considered on a case-by-case basis. Advance payments for unused sessions in a plan period are generally refundable on a pro-rata basis if you discontinue, subject to a processing notice period of 7 days.

6. Tutor replacement

If a student is not satisfied with their assigned tutor, Academex will arrange a replacement tutor at no additional charge. We ask for one paid session before a replacement request to allow the tutor–student relationship time to develop, except in cases of clear incompatibility.

7. Student conduct

Students and parents are expected to treat tutors with respect. Academex reserves the right to terminate services without refund in cases of abusive or disrespectful behaviour toward tutors or Academex staff.

8. Intellectual property

Session notes, materials, and resources shared by tutors are for the enrolled student's personal use only. Redistribution, resale, or commercial use of any Academex materials is not permitted.

9. Limitation of liability

Academex provides tutoring support and cannot guarantee specific exam results. Our liability is limited to the fees paid for the relevant session or plan period. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance.
